Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway have activities to keep families occupied over the school break later this month.
As well as some decorations adorning the railway stations and cafés, there will be the added seasonal spectacle of ‘double-header trains’ featuring two heritage steam engines rather than the usual one.
The trains are expected to run daily from Monday 23 to Friday, October 27 on the 10.25am departure from Ravenglass to Irton Road, along with full line returns for the 40-minute journey to Dalegarth departing Ravenglass on 11.25am services. That’s subject to operations and times/engines on the day may vary.
General Manager of Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, Stuart Ross, said: “Spooky things will be happening both on the trains and at the Museum this half-term, so it’s a great time to bring families together to enjoy the ghostly goings-on.
"The rarely-seen double-headed trains are a particular treat and means there will be something to get the whole family in the Halloween spirit.”
The Halloween fun and games will also feature a special 'Witch Trail' quiz, including a sweet treat for completed trail sheets handed in by children on the day.
