A TEENAGER from West Cumbria has created a piece of art following the felling of a much-loved sycamore tree.
Elijah Chalue, 18, of Whitehaven created the artwork to express his distress at what has happened to the historic tree.
The tree was located on Hadrian's Wall and was known as one of the most iconic trees in the UK.
It was cut down last week, and authorities continue investigating the matter.
Along with the artwork, Elijah wrote a piece about what had happened, he said: "On a solitary hill overlooking a quaint village, stood a majestic tree.
"This tree was no ordinary tree; it was a living testament to the passage of time, a silent witness to the history that unfolded beneath its branches."
