Cumbria Police are continuing to do speed checks in the Cleator area.
There have been concerns, particularly around Trumpet Terrace, of vehicles speeding.
The police have also been doing checks in other areas like Woodhouse and Kells with one person arrested for a positive drugs wipe.
A spokesperson said: "Yesterday your Neighbourhood policing team carried out Speed and Vehicle checks in the areas of Cleator Moor, Woodhouse, and Kells as part of our response to ensure road safety.
"One was arrested for a positive drug wipe and numerous vehicles were checked for speed and vehicle defects.
"We will carry out more of these checks in the coming weeks."
