A MAN has denied having a baseball bat in a public place.
Matthew Watkinson, 29, pleaded not guilty to possessing an offensive weapon in a public place when he appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.
The defendant is accused of having a baseball bat in his possession on Ennerdale Road in Cleator Moor on September 2.
Watkinson, of Croasdale Place, Cleator Moor, will appear at Carlisle Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on October 31.
He was granted unconditional bail.
