Whitehaven News: Pride and Diverse Cumbria are 'hugely excited' for the eventPride and Diverse Cumbria are 'hugely excited' for the event (Image: Pride and Diverse Cumbria)

A word from the organisers:

"We are hugely excited about this event, it started as a group of us, some old friends, some new acquaintances who wanted to do something for the local community, what has resulted is just incredible."

"The team has worked solidly for months to put this together and we just can’t wait for the day to arrive now.  It’s a lot of work but well worth it and the committee are like a family.  We speak to each other all the time and have supported one another throughout."

"To have such big stars come to sing and perform at our event is simply fantastic, some of the committee have done events like this before but also some of us that will feel a little star struck (I am definitely one of the star struck ones), I loved East 17 as a teenager and will be singing along to every track."

"Sandi Thom will be joined by local Makaton choir HandVibez, what a great opportunity for these young people, I am sure it will be emotional."

"We honestly cannot wait for the event, and perhaps when we can relax afterwards. It is with huge thanks to our sponsors and supporters that have enabled this event to be completely free to attend, we hope everyone will come along to our celebration of Diversity and Inclusion."
