Lowes Court Art Gallery in Egremont has announced its featured artists for August.

Featuring for August at Lowes Court are paintings by Tetiana Scott and photographs by Jeff Dixon.

Very sadly, Tetiana passed away in June of this year, after a short illness.

Regular visitors to the gallery will instantly recognise her work – which reflects the naturalistic beauty of the landscape, creating a great impression of detail through her brushwork, coupled with a harmonious sense of colour across all seasons of the year.

Tetiana had been living and working in the UK for nine years since arriving from Ukraine and had enjoyed every minute of it.

She said: "The people of Cumbria are so warm and friendly, it really is a beautiful place to live. It saddens me, and I am so heartbroken to see what is happening in my own country, Ukraine. I hope it will all end soon."

"I love to paint local scenery, landscapes/seascapes, and some scenes just from imagination, using various mediums.

"I just hope that my work gives those who view it as much pleasure as it gives me to paint it."

Jeff Dixon is showing some of his local landscape photographs,

compactly printed and framed specially for the gallery.

Included are views of Egremont Castle, Florence Mine, and the Western lakes, along with several of his animal pieces. Jeff took up photography seriously over ten years ago, using a Nikon digital SLR camera to capture the moods of weather and light, often featuring our own, quieter side of the Lakes.

Prints and cards of work by both Tetiana and Jeff are also available, and the feature wall is on view until Saturday, August 26.

The Gallery (on Main Street, Egremont), also stocks a wide range of locally produced arts and crafts, paintings, photographs, prints, and cards by other gallery artists, textiles, glassware, jewellery, and wood.
