Skills 4 You volunteers and attendees have completed their tapestry just in time for the Coronation.

The centre, based at Cleator Moor, helps people out of work gain educational and career-oriented skills.

Over recent weeks one of the classes has been working together to create a Coronation-themed tapestry, which is now finished.

June Pearson, a volunteer at Skills 4 You, said: "There were more details to add and more to do and Skills were having a pre Coronation celebratory get-together around the time I was hosting my art group, so everyone was at that, it was a lovely turn out and a lovely celebration.

"I set the silk out and we were able to complete it, everybody was blown away and loved what we'd done it gave some of the final members of staff a chance to add their bits in.

"With a special request from Karen at Skills 4 You two dragonflies were added in memory of her mum and dad.

"I then took it away and it then comes off the frame, the edges are stitched, velvet backing is put on and it is heavily embroidered.

"There will be a special piece of mounted piece of wood for it to hang off and I took it up on Thursday morning.

"I was pleased because I was able to get it done in time for the Coronation, Karen was there and we were photographed with the tapestry.

"She was blown away and it was very emotional, it was a lovely thing to do with a really lovely talented group who were a privilege to work with.

"It was a lovely project and I think everyone felt that way so there will be more to follow."
