Mini police officers have been highlighting the importance of staying safe online.
The Mini Police at Orgill Primary School in Egremont work closely with PCSO Simon Kane of Cumbria Police.
Mr Kane visits the school once a term with a special teaching focus and this term the Mini Police have worked on internet safety.
They worked together, as a team, to cascade their learning throughout the whole school. This is done in a variety of ways such as small class workshops and whole school assemblies.
Other topics that have been covered include road safety, anti-social behaviour and water safety.
The Mini Police are rewarded for their additional work each term by Cumbria Police. Children are looking forward to a visit from the police dogs early next half term.
Louise McAlpine, of Orgill Primary School, said: “Children gain lots from the Mini Police experience including social skills, group work, problem solving and greater levels of citizenship and responsibility.”
