A WEST Cumbrian gym is expanding to offer new classes for people wanting to stay fit and healthy.
Situated on the Wath Brow Hornets ARLFC complex, the Wath Brow Hornets Fitness Suite serves people all across the Cleator Moor and west Cumbria area.
It has become very popular with its members over the years and is now in the process of making some new developments to the facility.
They have recently designed a new spinning area catering for older age groups and introduced more classes to welcome a wider range of people to the gym.
An over 55s spin class will be coming to the gym on Tuesday, February 21 between 1.15 and 1.45.
Amy Botsworth of Wath Brow Hornets Fitness Suite, said: "We've had a new spin studio built which has obviously opened up some new classes.
"We're running chair aerobics for the older adults downstairs as well as new gym sessions for older age groups.
"We've noticed a lot of interest the classes are bringing a lot more people in and I was just saying to another member of staff how busy the classes are getting, having the new bikes and spin studio definitely helps.
"Beforehand we didn't have a designated space to teach the classes in so this encouraged us to get the full studio built.
"We don't have any other future plans just yet, we are a small community gym so we are limited on space.
"However, after Covid we got all new equipment brought into the gym and now we've had the new spin bikes installed in the studio.
"We're quite a popular gym in the Cleator Moor area and we have a steady stream of members coming in.
"We've had 19 new members in the past month which is good considering the number of gyms in the area. We are even open to non-members too and we've noticed things picking up in that area. The gym is open to people aged 14 years and upwards."
Zoe Winter, the assistant manager, added: "Our gym memberships are on a no contract basis whilst other gyms in the area are on a 12-month contract scheme, if someone wanted to join up for three months then they'd be able to do that."
