NEW support is on offer for those who have lost loved ones.
Copeland Borough Council will offer a fortnightly support group to residents starting on March 20.
The group will run from 4pm to 6pm at the soon-to-be-open Distington Walled Garden café.
Mike Starkie, mayor of Copeland, said: “Dealing with grief can trigger many different emotions and some can find it hard to speak to family, friends, and loved ones, particularly if they’re also suffering loss.
“We were approached by a resident who was looking for informal support in a group setting, where they could offload and share their thoughts and feelings with others in similar circumstances.
“We’ve worked with the resident to create a safe and supportive space for people to come together to chat, spend time in the grounds, or do a spot of gardening.
“Everyone is welcome, and people can get involved as much or as little as they like, and can come and go as they please.
“The group will be exploring activities that can help them through the bereavement process - such as horticulture and light exercise."
