CUMBRIA Business Growth Hub is holding a series of upcoming drop-in sessions next month in Workington and Whitehaven.

The sessions are designed to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the opportunity to speak to experts and learn about business support services.

The drop-in sessions will be led by Growth Hub and representatives from Allerdale and Copeland Councils, Growth Hub business advisers, Barclays Eagle Lab and Dodd and Co Accountants.

"We’re excited to offer these drop-in sessions to the entrepreneur and business community in West Cumbria," said Lesley Robinson, head of business support at the Growth Hub.

"Our goal is to help local entrepreneurs succeed and these sessions will provide them with the tools and resources they need."

Mike Starkie, elected mayor of Copeland, said: “We are delighted to support the BSUS programme, and these events will be incredibly useful for people looking to gain a foothold or move their business forward.

"Start-ups and small businesses are intrinsic to a successful economy, and can be a driver for wider investment, as well as an invaluable service for local people.”

Councillor Mike Johnson, leader of Allerdale Borough Council said: “We’re really pleased to be supporting not only the BSUS programme but this local drop in session giving entrepreneurs and young businesses in Allerdale the opportunity to speak to experts.

"It’s important at any stage to access business support but for those in the very early stages it’s vital.”

Dates are:

  • Workington, Lakes College - February 8 10AM to 2PM
