Children in St Bees  were delighted to get a special visit freom Santa when he made the time to visit the village just before Christmas.

Sant's parade toured the streetes of St Bees, fitting in as many as they could  so every family and child had a chance to enjoy the event.

St Bees councillors Jeffrey Hailes said: "As Copeland councillor for St.Bees, I’m always impressed with the work and effort people put in this parade. The parish council plan well in advance and this year it was very special.
It’s uplifting and gives families a chance to see Santa and all his travelling elves. The parade ends when they light the Christmas tree on Main Street signalling the start of the festive period."

While he was in the area, Santa also called in to Parton to switch on the lights of the community's beautiful  memorial Christmas tree.

The beauty of the event was added to by St Bridget's school choir singing carols.

There were wooden discs for children to decorae and a PTA tombola and raffle to rise money for the school.
