Today, December 22, Whitehaven RL have announced the departure of one of their players.

Andrew Bulman will be leaving the club ahead of next season after a mutual agreement was came to.

A spokesperson from Whitehaven RL said: "Whitehaven Rugby League can today confirm we have come to a mutual agreement to release Andrew Bulman from the final year of his contract.

"Andrew approached the club and asked for a release from his contract as he had fallen out of love with rugby and wanted to pursue opportunities away from the game.

"The club are disappointed and wanted to keep Andrew, but we understand his decision and wish Andrew all the best in his future and hopefully we will see him playing in chocolate blue and gold again in the future."

Speaking on his departure Bulman said: “I would like to thank the board for allowing me the opportunity to have played for Whitehaven for the past four seasons and I wish them all the best for 2023"

Andrew first signed for the club ahead of the 2019 season and scored 45 tries in 67 appearances including now being the joint club record holder of tries scored in a game when he scored 6 vs Wigan St Pats in only his third professional game in the Challenge Cup in March 2019.
