Drivers in and around Copeland will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But the news isn't too bad, with all of them only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A595, from 10am December 1 to 8pm December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Parton to Howgate, traffic signals for SU works (Northern Gas networks).

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A595, from 9.30am to 3pm on December 8, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Parton Bus top to Brewery Brow, traffic signals for electrical works.

• A595, from 8pm December 8 to 5am December 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Blackbeck Roundabout to Iron Bridge junction, traffic signals with convoy working for patching works.

• A595, from 9.30am to 4pm on December 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Parton Bus top to Brewery Brow, Milestone and landscaping works.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
