ONE of Cumbria’s outdoor media personalities and mental health advocates is set to appear on a special TV show this week.

Harrison Ward, better known as Fell Foodie, will feature on Channel 5's Winter On The Farm tonight.

Fellow Cumbrian Helen Skelton, who has been putting her dancing shoes on for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, will join Jules Hudson and farmers Rob and Dave Nicholson every night from Monday, December 5 to Thursday, December 8 at 8pm for the special show live from Cannon Hall Farm.

The episode that Harrison who lives in Ambleside appears in is third of the of five-part show, he said: “I was absolutely delighted to be asked to take part in this show on Channel 5, it has an array of passionate viewers and shines a light on an industry that is so integral to our county of Cumbria."

Fell Foodie was approached to take part in the episode after becoming a familiar face in Cumbria himself, Harrison opened up on social media back in 2018, about his struggles with obesity and alcohol addiction.

His words, talent, skills, and openness have led him to become one of the Lakes best-known media personalities, columnists and content creators, regularly appearing at festivals, on TV and tens of thousands of supporters online.

Chatting ahead of the episode airing, Harrison added: “I was joined by the wonderful Dr Amir Khan as we took a hike through Grizedale Forest on a typically Cumbrian day.

“Of course, I made sure there was some freshly prepared grub at the summit to warm us back up!

“Thanks to all my family, friends, and supporters for their continued support. I'd love it if you could tune in!”

Harrison’s episode will air on Channel 5 at 8pm tonight Wednesday, December 7 with the episode available on My5 thereafter.
