Whether you’re straight out of university, looking for a job or wanting a change in career, The Skills Bootcamp has options to suit everyone.

Part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs, the scheme offers a free flexible course of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with a local employer.

Cumbria LEP has identified 13 unique projects to support organisations, sector representative groups, employers and/or delivery partners in Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) area to address skills shortages, with the aim to create pathways into work for hundreds of skilled individuals.

The projects will deliver flexible training programmes for adults over the age of 19.

The flexible approach allows adults to train around existing commitments and is delivered by a range of quality assured training providers.

There is also an opportunity to support employers looking to fill vacancies in sectors that are recruiting skilled individuals due to industry demand.

The training is free, high-quality, and provided by enthusiastic industry experts who are keen to expand the career horizons of those who take part, fill skills gaps for employers, and improve the wider economy of the region.

Employers can develop the expertise of their existing employees as well as benefit from the opportunity to recruit learners with specialist skills.

There is a small cost for employers who would like to train their own employees: SMEs are required to contribute 10% of the course costs, whilst large employers are asked to contribute 30% towards training expenses.

Current bootcamps available across Cumbria include; Digital Marketing, Data Analysis, Tourism and Visitor Economy Management, Additive Manufacturing and 3D CAD Skills (Level 3), Cyber Security Skills, ElectTech, Constructions Skills and Management CPC.
