Pupils at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith have been getting their A-Level results today.

Students across the county have been receiving their results after being the first-year group to sit in person A-Levels since the pandemic began.

High achievers include Daisy Gillon, Danny McAlea and Mahathi Varma all achieving 4 A* grades and three students also had their Oxbridge places confirmed.

‘’Over the last two years due to the Covid 19 pandemic this, for sustained periods, has been a trying time, for both students and staff’’ said headmaster, Mr Buckland.

‘’The achievements of the students are all the more special given the challenges they faced while studying over the last two years. We congratulate them all on the manner in which they have coped in these quite extraordinary times.”
