A MAN accused of breaching a sexual risk order has been remanded in custody.

Benjamin Herdman is alleged to have failed to tell police of aliases he was using on social media.

The 22-year-old Barrow man is said to have used Facebook and Instagram accounts under the names Ben Dover and Ben Turner between July 26 and August 10.

He is also said to have breached an order requiring him not to possess 'equipment designed or used for the restraint of other persons such as handcuffs or wearing any clothing such as high visibility vest' that may lead a member of the public to believe that he is a police officer.

The defendant, of Park Avenue, faces two charges of breaching his sexual risk order and two of failing to comply with notification requirements of the sex offenders register.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place in Blackpool.

He appeared at Blackpool Magistrates' Court and had his case to Preston Crown Court.

He is due to appear there for a hearing on September 14.
