THIS weeks trader of the week is Hello Beautiful Salon in Whitehaven, the salon is an all female team who describe themselves as 'one big family'.

Natalie Reay, 28, who is originally from Workington started the business 3 years in September. She opened the shop while she was pregnant with her son, Braxton.

Hello Beautiful Salon offers a wide variety of all things beauty! From nails to lashes, the team pride themselves on their genuine love for giving their clients a pamper. They also love being a part of people's special days when they get to offer their makeup services especially for weddings.

Hello Beautiful opened just before pandemic hit, Natalie had a new born and a daunting time ahead of her as the future for her small business, like many others was uncertain.

During this time, Natalie recalls how local hair and beauty businesses huddled together to help each other out and offer support. Since the pandemic, and the constant changing of the rules with salons closing and reopening, and the use of full PPE, it has been hard to keep on top of.  However, the team feel lucky and thankful to all their clients for supporting them before, during and after those difficult times.

The team want to be able to broaden their clientele and become a place that everyone feels included and a safe space to come to, whilst feeling pampered and relaxed. Natalie sung the praises for the team and customers saying: "The girls that work in the salon and the clients are just one big family and I would love to continue to grow the family that we have created at Hello Beautiful and strengthen the trusting relationship we have with our clients."

Natalie spoke about what owning her own business is like:

"The best thing about owning a business is having the freedom and ability to tailor the business to meet the demands and requirements of our clients. Times are changing and trends are always changing too, so it’s great that we can adapt the salon to suit this."

"I'm also a bit of a workaholic and a perfectionist at times so love that I can constantly keep pushing my own boundaries and the salons bounderies to always improve. The best part about hello beautiful has to be the relationships between our girls in the salon and their clients."

The customers at Hello Beautiful always appear to leave with a smile on their face, as Natalie spoke about what her customers have to say:

"Our inclusive, laid back approach and family vibe with our clients is something that we get complimented on a lot."
