  1. Copeland is home to some wonderful parts of the Lake District. Wasdale and Ennerdale are lovely and scenic and have great country pubs.
  2. There are also some wonderful hidden gems in the countryside including Longland's Lake and Clints Quarry which are near Cleator and Egremont.
  3. If you are a movie lover why not head along to The Gaiety Cinema in Whitehaven. This week they'll be showing Lightyear and Top Gun: Maverick. 
  4. For cinéastes who can't get enough of the silver screen, there are also movies showing at the Rosehill Theatre. 'Everything Everywhere All At Once' will be showing at the theatre this weekend.
  5. The Beacon on Whitehaven's harbourside has some great exhibitions happening at the moment. The Yellow Earl; Life of Hugh Lowther and Pirates of The Beacon Museum are taking place currently.
  6. The Rum Story also offers a fascinating insight into Whitehaven's history exploring the rum trade from centuries past.
  7. Whitehaven is home to some great places to walk. You can head over the cliff tops towards St Bees or along the bay via Parton towards Harrington.
  8. The harbourside is a wonderful place to explore at this time of year, with the west pier lighthouse recently being refurbished it truly is a scenic place.
  9. If you enjoy exploring the Cumbrian fells then you must try Dent Fell. The hill overlooks the majority of the area and has amazing views.
  10. Whitehaven has some great places to drink and unwind so if you're looking for a night out this weekend why not try some of the local pubs like The Royal Standard.
