Egremont artist Emma Hunt is currently showing a selection of her pastel landscape paintings at Lowes Court Gallery, Egremont.
She has been using art and music for a number of years to help her cope with a severe illness and abuse trauma.
Gareth Harrison, of Lowes Court Art Gallery, shared a few words, he said: "Emma’s joyfulness and passion is tangible within her work. She captures the beautiful landscapes and seascapes of the Lakes and West Cumbria but also embues them with an emotional authenticity that is unmistakably her.
"There is no pretence or pretention with Emma or with her art, what you see is what you get. She has also returned to her love of writing poetry and creating music to compliment her visual work."
In recent months, whilst continuing to paint, licence her art and teach, she has also been busy curating exhibitions for venues in Maryport and Whitehaven, with plans for more, offering opportunities for new and emerging artists to develop their practices and create an income from them in West Cumbria.
The Gallery, on Main Street, Egremont, also stocks a wide range of locally produced arts and crafts, including paintings and photographs by other gallery artists, prints and cards, textiles, glassware, jewellery and wood.
Emma’s exhibition runs until Saturday May 28, and the gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am until 1:30pm.
