1)The Rum Story - the Dark Spirit of Whitehaven

On Lowther Street, the attraction is set in the original shop, courtyards, cellars and bonded warehouses of the Jefferson family business.

 It tells the story of the UK rum trade, which originally centred on the port of Whitehaven.

2) A trip to St Bees 

St Bees Head, is a major sea cliff falling to a lovely long golden beach which is a bird-watchers heaven ,or for those who just love to be beside the seaside, why not go for an ice-cream at the famous Hartley's cafe.

3) Visit Gosforth Cross

Gosforth contains a unique collection of Norse artefacts in and around St Mary’s Church- one of these is Gosforth Cross, which is the tallest and oldest Viking cross in England.

More commonly known as the L'all Ratty, the railway goes from Eskdale to Ravenglass on the coast and is fun for all the family.
