AN autumn date has been set for the UK's largest livestock event held in Carlisle.

Harrison & Hetherington, organisers of Borderway Agri Expo, has announced that this year it will take place on Friday, October 28.

The event, taking place at Borderway Mart in Carlisle, attracts thousands of visitors from across the UK.

Not only is it a sought-after showcase for some of the UK’s finest quality beef cattle and sheep, it is also an event dedicated to the latest industry products, practices and innovations.

And to further highlight the global reputation the event has, it will be live streamed to audiences across the world.

A new addition last year was a series of seminars hosted by H&H Land & Estates which proved extremely popular and will be another attraction at this year’s show.

Scott Donaldson, Managing Director at Harrison & Hetherington commented: “Borderway Agri Expo is a wonderful way for the industry to get together and network. It is always useful to talk with people who are facing the same challenges and opportunities, and to learn from each other. Last year we had both Neil Shand, the Chief Executive of the National Beef Association and Phil Stocker, Chief Executive of the National Sheep Association speaking, who gave great insights into UK consumption trends and how they see the future of livestock trading shaping up.

“It is so fulfilling to see our event go from strength to strength and to get such positive feedback from exhibitors, sponsors, and visitors. I urge everyone involved in livestock farming, on whatever scale, to come along and experience Borderway Agri Expo for themselves.”

Details of individual breed society shows, demonstrations, trade events and seminar speakers are still to be finalised, but will be confirmed in due course. Further details will be updated regularly on the event’s dedicated web site – www.borderwayagriexpo.uk
