A man has been given a hefty fine for assaulting a police officer.
Glenn Riley, 29, of West Spur, Moor Row, pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker.
He appeared at Workington Magistrate's Court on Friday.
The court was told that the offence happened on December 24 in Whitehaven.
Riley was fined £400 and must pay £85 court costs and a £40 surcharge to fund victim services.
