A GROUP of pupils from Whitehaven has received conditional offers from one of the country's best universities.

Four talented students from St Benedict’s Sixth Form have been offered a place at the University of Oxford for September 2022.

Kai Savage, Ewan Hawkrigg, Juliet Bridgman and Connor Allan have all received provisional offers which will be confirmed once they gain their A-level results in the summer.

Kai Savage, from Year 13 said: “I’m hoping to study chemistry and I’m over the moon with my offer. It’s great that three others have offers as well; I feel like we’ve done the school proud.”

Connor Allan was also pleased. He said: “I got an offer for Oxford to study mathematics and computer science. I am absolutely delighted that I have received an offer.”

Ewan is hoping to study computer science, and Juliet has applied to study law.

Mr Hamilton, head of sixth Form at St Benedict’s said: “I am delighted that these four students have gained an offer from Oxford. Their dedication and hard work has clearly been recognised during the interview process.

“I would like to offer my congratulations to all the Year 13 cohort who have applied to universities across the UK.

"It is fantastic to note that following a turbulent two years, every student who has applied via the UCAS application system has received offers of places in higher education.”

The school has wished all of its Year 13 students the best of luck with their upcoming A-Level exams.
