PUPILS have done their school proud at a county-wide table tennis tournament.
Ten Year 5s from Bransty Primary School in Whitehaven represented Bransty and Cumbria at the Under 11's Butterfly National School Championships, which were held in Kirkby Stephen on Saturday, January 15.
John Lee, the school's access and inclusion manager, said: "They won't progress to the next round but we are officially zone finalists from England North!
"The Bransty Boys' team finished fourth and the Bransty Girl's team finished third overall today.
"As a team they played over 100 games and refereed peer matches, all in six hours.
"They have all been incredible ambassadors for Bransty and showed a very mature level of sportsmanship against tough, experienced competition."
