Whitehaven RLFC are now looking ahead to the upcoming season after what has been a strong year for the club.

Head Coach Jonty Gorley has issued a message to his players and staff giving them some pre season encouragement.

Mr Gorley said in a Christmas message: "I'd just like to wish all my playing staff, backroom staff, the coaching staff, the directors, the sponsors, the VPs and all the supporters a very Happy Christmas and all the best for 2022. We'll see you down at the ground."

Whitehaven have had a very strong season in 2021 managing to reach the play offs after being promoted to the Championship division.

After replacing Gary Charlton as Head Coach for the upcoming season Jonty has said that he hopes the team will continue to be even better than the previous year.

The side have made some changes to line up and unfortunately have had to let some good players go. However, they have also introduced some new people to the squad.

It is hoped that this will keep the team playing well and maybe even improve the performance in the coming months.

The squad which consists of twenty four players have already started with their training with their first match now just over a month away.

They are also keen to welcome their fans fully back to the stadium after last season when many matches were held behind closed doors due to Covid.
