BRITAIN'S Energy Coast Business Cluster has launched the BECBC Business Awards 2022.

With eleven award categories and opportunities to sponsor to suit all sizes of business, there will be plenty to celebrate at the awards ceremony on May 26.

“After two long years of hard work and adjusting to the new normal brought on by the pandemic, our members will be able to take stock and time out to celebrate their successes," said Dianne Richardson, CEO.

"BECBC truly is a community and while our members will be competing for these prestigious awards, they will also want to come together to celebrate each other. I, for one, cannot wait to see the nominations and am really looking forward to the awards evening!”

This year, for the first time, the awards include two sustainability awards. These are the ‘Sustainability Award – Environmental’ and the ‘Sustainability Award – Social Value’.

A spokesman for this year’s event sponsor, Sellafield Ltd, said: “Sellafield Ltd is once again proud to be associated with the BECBC Awards, which showcase local and national organisations – many of which operate within our own supply chain.

"These awards are a great opportunity for companies to strive for continuous improvement, share learning and demonstrate the entrepreneurial ambitions in the region.

"We are delighted to be part of this exciting event.”

More than 90 per cent of the sponsorship categories have already been funded.

Orano, the sponsor for the Innovation and Creativity award, said: “At Orano, innovation is our business.

"We innovate across the nuclear fuel cycle on a daily basis and understand the impact that true creativity and forward-thinking can have in driving forward new business and new solutions.

"We are proud to be sponsoring the BECBC Innovation and Creativity award in 2022, in recognition of the fact that Cumbria is home to some of the biggest pools of innovation and creativity in the UK. We want to see this recognised and promoted as an essential part of a thriving and resilient supply chain.”
