A person has died after emergency services were called to a property fire, police have confirmed.
Police were called by Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service at 8.54am today following a fire at a property at Distington.
One person was confirmed deceased inside the property.
Officers are working to confirm their identity and joint enquiries are underway involving police and the fire service.
Four appliances - two from Workington Fire Station and two from Whitehaven Fire Station - were called to the property in Distington at about 8am this morning.
There are no suspicious circumstances. The coroner has been informed.
