A wildlife and nature reserve in our area is offering something fun for all the family to do this Christmas.

West Cumbria Rivers Trust have organised a Christmas Weekend event at Longlands Lake in Cleator.

The event will take place on Saturday the 4th and Sunday the 5th December between 10am and 3pm.

A spokesperson from West Cumbria Rivers Trust said: "A weekend of activities to get us in the mood for Christmas and to celebrate all Longlands Lake has to offer during the winter months. There'll be Christmas crafts, Forest School taster sessions, bird box making, willow weaving and more.

"This event is free thanks to our funders Sellafield Ltd."

This offers a great opportunity to get yourself and your family out and about this winter time whilst getting well and truly into the Christmas spirit.

Your children can enjoy everything that the wonderful nature reserve has to offer and discover and often forgotten local gem.

Lots of people have already shown a keen interest around the area so why not head down and get involved.
