An engineering apprentice from West Cumbria has performed exceptionally well in a Regional Manufacturing Awards.

Amee Flynn, of Egremont, has been awarded 'Engineering Apprentice: Final Year' for the North West at the Make UK Awards.

Amee has worked with TSP Engineering for three years and is currently carrying out a HNC in Mechanical Engineering with local training provider Gen2.

Miss Flynn said: "I’m really grateful to the amazing people here at TSP for giving me the countless opportunities, exposure and support, which have enabled me to be put forward for an award like this one.

"To have won shows how much their hard work and dedication to not only developing people but also the business has contributed."

TSP have said they are proud to be part of Amee's journey and that they will continue to support her with future goals and aspirations in the sector.

Make UK, The Manufacturers’ Organisation, is the representative voice of UK manufacturing, collectively representing 20,000 companies.

The awards recognise excellence among manufacturing companies in six categories, as well as four apprentice categories.

This particular award is developed for apprentices who have done their most to seize training and development opportunities during their final year of the programme.

The individual will have used their time as an apprentice to develop and widen their capabilities beyond the scope of the apprenticeship, whilst making a significant contribution to the success of the company.

The awards were presented at the North West Annual Dinner of Make UK at The Marriott in Preston.

Amee will now be entered into the national awards where she will compete with the winners of the other regions to battle for the overall title.

TSP said that they are unbelievably proud of Aimee and their other apprentices for their commitment, dedication and hard work during these difficult times.

John Coughlan, CEO of TSP Engineering, said: "Amee joins the long list of TSP Engineering employees who have received recognition, showing how we as a business invest in the development of our people.

"Amee has real talent and a bright future ahead of her with TSP Engineering.

"I am proud to work with talented and dedicated people like Amee, who make a difference to our business everyday."
