Next week a photo exhibition will be coming to a West Cumbrian town to celebrate the areas history.

The exhibition will be hosted in Egremont Market Hall and it aims to look back on what life was like around the area in years gone by.

Visitors can come down to enjoy the exhibition on Monday 25th October.

A spokesperson from Egremont Town Council said: "Please take this opportunity to come and see photos of Egremont, Whitehaven and Cleator Moor from years ago.

"Come and see where your Mam and Grandma used to shop.

"It is not to be missed, it's a trip down memory lane.

Thanks to Low Level Waste Repository, Gerard Richardson and Egremont Town Council for their support to make this happen."

Everyone is invited to come down and explore past years of West Cumbria through the pictures on display.

Towns across Copeland have been doing a fair amount recently to celebrate their own cultural history.

In Whitehaven recently photo exhibitions have been displayed in The Beacon Museum and there was also a public exhibition on the Marina.

Gerard Richardson, a Whitehaven business owner, was also involved with organising these exhibitions.
