A Whitehaven bar is set to host top artists from the club scene in a bid to bring some 'feel good' events to the town.

Club 135 on Tangier Street will welcome a number of big names over the coming months, hoping to draw in the crowds after the difficulties the venue has faced during the coronavirus pandemic.

The impressive line-up of events kicks off this weekend with Ibiza legend Judge Jules, who has previously been voted the world's number one DJ, arriving at the bar on Friday.

Bounce legend DJ Cheeze is also set to appear with MC Eazy on Saturday night and will return to Club 135 later this year.

Other acts booked to appear at the Whitehaven nightspot later in the year include: N-Trance, Flip n Fill, MC Keyes, Kelly Llorenna, Micky Modelle and Klubfiller - who are filling stadiums all over the UK with the Clubland tours.

Danielle Lee, who owns Club 135 with Mark Johnson, said: "Having gone through a horrible 16-18 month period as a business, Mark and myself thought we'd try and bring some feel good events to the town.

"We know that the kind of acts we're putting on are really well liked and followed by people aged 18 to 50+ so hopefully there will be something for everyone."

A Day of the Dead Halloween event will be held on Saturday, October 30.

The venue is also supporting local artists, with vocalist Kirsty Sorrelle due to perform on December 4.

All the events are free entry, however people are advised to arrive early as large numbers are expected to attend.
