A campaign group who are in support of the West Cumbrian mine are looking to hold a Public Enquiry Panel ahead of their Whitehaven visit.

We Support West Cumbrian Mining will visit the West Cumbrian Mining site at Kells, Whitehaven on Monday October 4th.

They will be there to show their support for the West Cumbrian mine.

John Greasley from WSWCM said "We invite anyone who is in favour and wants their voice to be heard to stand with us on Monday and show the panel what local people really think about the proposal and all the positives it will bring to our region.

"We as a support group for the mine have been inundated with messages of support and our social media pages have grown fourfold over the last month."

This project which would see the World's first 'net-zero' Underground Mine has been ongoing for five years with approval given from Cumbria County Council on three separate occasions.

Mr Greasley added: "The Coking Coal which is to be extracted would be used in the Steel Industry, not the domestic market but would in fact be used in the steel making process of producing a variety of things, including Wind Turbines and other materials used in Green projects." said Ste Murphy from WSWCM."
