An amazing kid's science show will be coming to town this Friday.

Fartology, hosted by BBC's Stefan Gates, teaches children about the science of digestion.

The educational show will offer the youngsters a fun and unique approach to learning about biology.

Gerard Richardson one of the sponsors and organisers of the event alongside Sellafield and Whitehaven Town Council, said: "This is Britain's Energy Coast so if we cant inspire kids into Science and Engineering around here, where can you? I'm delighted that companies such as Inspire and PACTEC are happy to take part in sponsoring events like this which can only be of benefit to local pupils.

"When kids are entertained, they soak up the information and I guarantee they will be entertained.

"And also 'I'm delighted that companies such as Inspire and PACTEC were also happy to sponsor coaches for the schools."

It will take place in St Nicholas' Gardens on the 24th September with a 10am and 1pm showing.

Schools from across West Cumbria will be attending including St Patricks in Cleator Moor and Seascale Primary School.

The show is a new development by the Gastronauts team who tour the country providing educational shows for children.

Stefan and the team have visited Whitehaven before but this will be the first for this particular show.

Kids are told to expect explosions and lots more fun.
