THE PUBLIC are being given the chance to play a leading role in nuclear policy with their council.

Copeland Borough Council is asking for applicants to be its nuclear policy and engagement manager.

The full time permanent position pays £45,859 with progression up to £50,170.

A spokesperson for the council calls it "an exciting opportunity to join a unique team within local government.

"Copeland Borough Council is a truly nuclear local authority with a duty to act in the best interests of the social, environmental and economic prosperity of Copeland's communities on matters concerning the nuclear sector."

The ideal candidate will be "experienced in building relationships with a wide range of people and influencing change in multi-stakeholder environments."

They will also be passionate about supporting community stakeholders and effective at communication and making complex information understandable. Copeland council are also looking for an energetic, motivated person who is adaptable to change.
