Cumbria County Council’s Adult Learning service continues to inspire the people of Cumbria to learn something new – and kick-start the aspirations of our communities after COVID-19.

While the pandemic has led to a difficult and challenging time for most households across the county – with many people putting their lives on hold – your local Adult Learning team continues to support communities as they emerge from the crisis.

The Adult Learning service has just released their new course list for Autumn 2021. With a range of courses to support adults to gain new skills and qualifications, take part in classes to support personal wellbeing or even help with a new career, there is a broad curriculum on offer.

As an added bonus – many of the courses are free!

English, Maths, Digital Skills, Employability and Health & Wellbeing, are just some of the course areas offered. You could also try your hand at learning a new language, be creative with different Arts & Crafts or even find out how to navigate the Lake District with Hill Skills.

Whitehaven News:

For those re-evaluating their careers after the pandemic, the Adult Learning service offers a range of employability services – including CV writing and interview skills. There are also a number of courses with qualifications you can add to your CV, including certificates, awards and GCSEs.

With social distancing restrictions now lifted, there’s no better time to get back in the classroom and gain a new skill or qualification – and new confidence.

A COVID-safe and flexible way to learn

For those hesitant about getting back in the classroom or looking for more flexibility, Adult Learning now offers more online courses than ever. Aiming to replicate the classroom environment as closely as possible, online courses are delivered in real-time through Zoom, with direct support from tutors and interaction with fellow learners.

Whitehaven News:

As the leading provider of adult learning across the county, Cumbria County Council's Adult Learning has an Ofsted rating of ‘Good’ and their highly experienced tutors have years of experience supporting you to take your skills to the next level - now with the flexibility to learn near you or from your home!
