AN APPLICATION has been submitted for the conversion of an agricultural barn and a farmyard in Beckermet, making way for up to five dwellings.

An application has been submitted for the dwellings on a new development at Croft End Farm, Nursery Road, converting the existing agricultural barn and farmyard.

John Hodgson and family have made the application to Copeland Borough Council's planning department. The plans lodged are for up to five residential dwellings which will be either self, custom or developer built.

Adams Planning and Development, who are the agent for the plans said in their supporting statement: "The Applicants were advised that the shortage of larger family-sized units coupled with the attractive traditional stone barn and village centre location make the site particularly well suited to deliver a small number of large residences, including the conversion of the barn into two dwellings with two or three new detached dwellings to the rear."

The public can comment on applications, making their feelings on developments in their area known to the planning authority. To view this application in full and have your say, visit: https://www.copeland.gov.uk/planning/application/42123610o1
