BARROW Raiders' Sunday fixture against Cumbrian rivals Workington Town at Derwent Park has been cancelled due to Covid-19.
Paul Crarey's side have been hit by a number of positive Covid tests, which have now surpassed the RFL's threshold.
Under the RFL’s Covid-19 protocols, a team can apply to postpone a match if seven or more senior players are unavailable as a result of Covid-19 – either through positive tests or as close contacts.
The postponed fixture will be added to the list for possible rearrangement, although the league tables are determined by win points percentage to allow for the possibility of not all fixtures being fulfilled.
Head coach Crarey said: "I am really gutted as we would have fielded probably our strongest 17 this season with players like Jarrad Stack, Tee Ritson, Adam Walne, Shane Toal all recovered from injury while Dan Toal has served his five-match ban. Hakim Mouladi, who broke his wrist and went home to France to recover, is expected to be back in Barrow on Monday."
