A community centre in Carlisle is hosting a 'bounce back day' to raise money for the resumption of children's activities.

Friends of Belah Community Centre in Carlisle announced that they looking for businesses or local residents to hire out stalls at the event on Sunday August 8.

The money raised from the stalls would go towards Belah Community Centre and getting kids activities back up and running - something community centre treasurer, Nicolle Baker said has been sorely missed.

"It's very important to give the children something to look forward to after the uncertainty of the last 18 months, the fun day is fully funded so there will be little cost for the families joining us on the day," said Nicolle.

"I think it's been a tough time for everyone and the community centre is no exception.

"The staff and manger worked really hard during the pandemic to make the centre safe for the few people who were still using it.

"I think it's important for kids to be kids again and try to forget about the troubles going on around them."
