AN IMPORTANT update to match day has been revealed by Whitehaven Rugby League.

Oldham RLFC make the trip to Haven’s LEL Arena on Sunday and there will be changes to the match day experience after Coronavirus restrictions were lifted on Monday.

A spokesperson for Whitehaven RL said: “As you will all be aware the government restrictions have changed and as such we have been in close consultation with Copeland Borough Council to ensure we do what is necessary to keep all of our supporters and visitors safe.”

This weekend’s game will still have restricted capacity but face coverings are no longer mandatory.

Sanitising stations will still be in place at the LEL Arena.

“We also ask all supporters to be mindful of their contact with others.”

“Bar service has now resumed along with us now being allowed to eat and drink on our terraces and in the stands.”

A £10 ticket offer is in place before 1pm and Whitehaven RL urged the public to get behind their players in the chocolate, blue and gold.
