A COMEDIAN has been cancelled from tours because of his racist tweets.
Andrew Lawrence, who is known for his stand-up work, has had his tour appearance at Rosehill Theatre in Whitehaven cancelled.
Andrew tweeted several times against the England football team players who missed their penalties in the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
The players that missed were Marcus Rashford MBE, Jadon Sancho and Bokayo Saka, who are black, and who received racist abuse since the final online.
In the tweets, Andrew Lawrence commented on the players' race, and made a mocking apology by concluding 'black guys are bad at penalties'.
In a statement, a spokesperson from Rosehill Theatre said: "Our trustees and staff agree with concerns over tweets by Andrew Lawrence following the Euro 2020 final.
"We do not share his views and comments.
"We proote equality, diversity and inclusion.
"We have no room for racism.
"His scheduled visit to Rosehill is no longer on sale."
