A Chirk bed business say they're all made up - after scooping a prestigious business award this week.

Seventh Heaven, Chirk Bank, beat off competition from across the nation to take first place in the Peoples Choice Wales category of the Family Business of the Year Awards 2021, run by Family Business United, it was announced yesterday (June 25).

The Chirk Road business, which sells antique beds, mattresses, bases, and bedding, has previously won the Family Business of the Year in Wales award in 2016.

"We're so thrilled to announce that we have won the People's Choice for the Welsh Family Business Of The Year Award 2021. Not only that but we managed to bag Runner Up for the Welsh Family Business Of The Year Award 2021 too," said a spokesperson.

"Congratulations to all the other family businesses participating tonight, and a huge thank you to Family Business United for advocating and supporting Family Businesses like ours.

"A huge thank you also to all of our incredible supporters who voted for us in the People's Choice category this year. Without you we wouldn't have won, nor would Seventh Heaven be here today."

The winners were announced during a live YouTube broadcast, held on Friday, June 25.
Organised by Family Business United, they describe the event as a celebration of the very best of British family businesses, which brought together finalists from all over the UK.

Paul Andrews, founder of FBU and organiser of the awards said: "Family businesses are the backbone of the UK economy and these awards celebrate their contribution in terms of jobs provided, income generated and wealth created, not to forget the positive impact they have as a force for good in the communities in which they are based.  Our winners are all incredible businesses with a story to tell, solid governance and a desire to succeed.

"With more than 6 million family firms across the UK employing around 13 million people, their importance should not go unnoticed. It is an honour to champion family firms across the UK and we know that as the nation recovers from the impact of the pandemic, they will be vital to the recovery too. Last night was incredible, the energy amongst the winners palpable and their pride evident for everyone to see. "
