Following the success of their virtual summer school during lockdown, one team is thrilled to be hosting their in-person classes once again – with an exciting summer ahead for students.

Performing arts school, Stagecoach, is set to hold its Summer School next month, and with the group finally able to come together for sessions again, they couldn't be more excited to get cracking.

Principal of the Cockermouth-based school, Naomi Bewsher, said: "It's going to be fantastic – there are still some Covid restrictions in place, so there will be a few limits on what we can do, but it's still going to be brilliant.

"We've been very lucky, because even during lockdown, we could work virtually together, and still keep connected and strengthen that bond of friendship, but it's so nice to be back working together in-person again, and seeing the students really enjoy their classes."

This year's performance is the Addams Family, and the talented youngsters will be tasked with putting the show together in just five days.

While at the summer school – which will be held at Broughton Moor Primary School – the five-to-18-year-olds will learn and develop their key skills, from singing, dancing and acting, to behind-the-scenes handiwork, including choreography, stage-setting, directing and more.

Running from July 19-23, the school has a limit of 60 students – and everybody is encouraged to sign up soon.

"I always say nothing ventured, nothing gained, so if your child really wants to get into performing, or even just needs a bit of a confidence boost, we'd definitely encourage them to get involved," Naomi said.

"It's a great opportunity for young people to really develop their skills – and it's also just really, really fun for them!

"We're all really friendly, are our doors are always open to anyone who wants to give performing a go."

The school costs £155 per student, with the price also including a t-shirt and access to the recorded performance, as Covid restrictions mean no live performance is possible.
