Readers have shared their condolences following the news that a teenager died at a West Cumbrian quarry.

Cumbria Police confirmed on Tuesday (June 8) that a report of a sudden death in the area of Clints Quarry, Egremont, was received from the North West Ambulance Service at about 11:30am on Saturday (June 5).

A 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Readers of the Whitehaven News have since shared their deepest condolences to the boy's loved ones.

Debbie Irving said: "How extremely sad. My thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP young man."
