A road in Whitehaven will be closed for the majority of June.
In a notice served by Cumbria County Council, all vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along a section of Central Road, Whitehaven from its junction with Hilltop Road extending in a south westerly direction for approx. 100m.
The ruling it to allow Northern Gas Networks to carry out utility works.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times and a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via Hilltop Road, Saltom Road and the unrestricted section of Central Road.
Exemptions do apply.
The ruling is expected to be in place from June 7 until June 25, although they may continue in force for a maximum
duration of eighteen months.
