Free government support for exporters in Copeland will be outlined to businesses to help them take advantage of international opportunities and to tap into the huge global demand for British products.

Trudy Harrison, MP for Copeland, is working to help businesses in Copeland to start or grow international sales and showcase the Best of British goods by hosting the second session of the Parliamentary Export Programme on Friday, June 18, from 11am.

The webinar, titled ‘Expand your business: export to new, fast growing markets’ will focus on SMEs targeting fast growing markets, how businesses can take advantage of new trade agreements and removed trade barriers and how DIT and partners’ services can help businesses.

It will be held virtually on Friday 18th June at 11:00. The event is free to attend, and all businesses need to do to join is register at the following link: www.events.great.gov.uk/parliamentary-export-programme.

Trudy said: “Partnering with the Department for International Trade, I want to ensure businesses in Copeland can access the support on offer and understand the opportunities for growth as the UK signs new trade deals around the world.

“I am determined to help local companies across Copeland thrive in the high growth markets of the future, create high quality jobs and help the local area recover after the Covid crisis, which is why I am pleased to be hosting events that can protect jobs and give businesses in my constituency access to information, advice and finance to sell internationally.

“The events I’m organising are free and all businesses need to do is register. Experts and experienced exporters will provide advice including on government-supported working capital and the practicalities of post-Brexit trade.”

In attendance will be experienced exporters to provide free advice including on government supported working capital and the practicalities of post-Brexit trade. Whether your business is new to exporting, has exported in the past or is a current exporter, participating in the programme will equip your business with the support and tools needed to begin or continue your exporting journey.

The sessions will provide Copeland businesses an opportunity to hear speakers from the Department for International Trade, an experienced local exporter, and a bank, all detailing the support available for businesses to expand their business overseas.

Trudy Harrison MP is a founding member of the Parliamentary Export Programme where selected cross-party MPs organise and chair virtual meetings with experts from business and government to support local businesses in their exporting journey.
