A new luxury dog hotel has been launched in Arlecdon by a west Cumbrian businesswoman.

Woofs and Wags’ founder Yvonne Clark is incredibly excited to be finally bringing her long-awaited ideas to life.

The building has been fully refurbished and has been built with the guests' wellbeing as a top priority.

Each of the hotel rooms are themed, named after famous cartoon dogs, with dog owners being able to choose their preferred room.

One of the key aims Yvonne set out with is to give each dog owner the peace of mind and reassurance they would expect whilst also providing their pet with a fun experience.

Talking of her new business venture Yvonne said: “I have been looking forward to the opening of our dog hotel for a very long time, this is something I have had planned for years. Covid has been a big factor in the delay of our opening, which has only made us more excited and eager to open.

“Both me and my family are looking forward to welcoming our guests as we embark on the journey of creating magical experiences for the doggies of west Cumbria.

"We have had animals for years ourselves and so we understand just how precious they are to everyone and so we wanted to create a totally new and upmarket style accommodation, so the humans aren’t the only ones who get to enjoy their holidays!

"Our hotel is now open for business after a long 20 months of planning, building and rigorous health and safety checks.”

It’s very much a family affair with Yvonne hiring her son, Oliver who is 16 as he has chosen to do an apprenticeship in Kennel Management with Kendal College.

The new venture of Yvonne’s is one that has been trendy across the country with the desire for pet owners to treat their four-legged best friends to only the best with many dog hotels popping up across the nation.
