A WEST Cumbrian artist will be holding an exhibition in Egremont - and would like to hear from anyone willing to sit for a portrait.

Fliss Watts will be showing her work in an exhibition called Living is Easy with Eyes Closed, at Florence Arts Centre.

It will include 12 large portraits and some sculptures and run from May 22 to June 19.

"During the exhibition, I will be on site on Saturdays (or other days by arrangement), making some new portrait drawings which I intend to add to the exhibition," said Fliss.

"I’ll be taking advantage of Florence Paintmakers’ products, experimenting with the pigments they make using Egremont haematite and other local minerals.

"If anyone would like to be a sitter, they should come along on a Saturday or get in touch to arrange another day."

On the Saturdays June 12 and 19 Fliss, who lives in Little Clifton, plans to hold ‘Climate Conversations’, where people can share their thoughts and feelings about the climate emergency and how we can respond to it.
