Workington RNLI were called out twice this morning to two boats in trouble off the West Cumbrian coast.

The team were called out at 10.35am to help the 24ft Dorothy May White after
it had broken down off the coast of Workington.

They found one person aboard the all-weather lifeboat the ship had launched.

The boat was towed back to Workington harbour shortly after.

On return, the crew at the RNLI received a second callout to another boat off
the coast of Harrington whose gearbox had failed.

The volunteer crew went immediately to aid the 28ft vessel, towing it safely back
to harbour.
